The ESN is a ministry arm of the Tru316 Foundation (Tru316.com) which spreads the positive insights of Eden to grown-ups through The Eden Podcast and to children and their families through the Eden Family Schoolhouses!
ESN co-founders Dr. Joy Fleming and Rev. Bruce C. E. Fleming designed the concept that launched Southwest Christian High School (swchs.org).
You are feeling burned out as a homeschool family, but you desire a relational, Biblical education for your children where beautiful books, music, art, nature, Shakespeare, science and history come alive through retellings and hands on learning. You desire a family-like atmosphere for your children.
Your children are graduating from a Nature, Waldorf, Montessori or Charlotte Mason program and you're not ready to send them to a large public classroom.
OR
Your little one has been home with family and you want a small, kind, multi-aged classroom that feels like home.
You are feeling like your children aren't being well served in their public or charter school. You are uncomfortable with the curriculum, the class size, the bullying or a variety of other concerning behaviors. You desire teachers who know and respect the personhood of your child and honor your role as parents. You want a school that partners with you in the discipleship of your children.
Think about public tax-supported education. Is it really a good thing for our children to live in a Godless desert at school 7 hours every weekday? This is what happens in to students in Public and Charter Schools that are required to implement government policies. God is not present. Is this a free education, or do our children pay a great price being immersed in this system? Can we think further? What are our children exposed to in these schools? Students don’t just get used to hours away from God. They are exposed to hours filled with ideas and teachings that are contrary to God’s Word in many ways!
Think about the Eden Schoolhouse. Students experience a full day where God is a part of their hourly experience. Our teachers love God and it shows in their values and in the classroom.
Think about private Christian schools. Here we ask a different question. Are students marched through their day in a lockstep manner, just like in the public and other private schools? Is your child at the grade level the curriculum assumes they are at? What if they are ahead? What if they are not yet at grade level in a certain subject? Do they have to conform and suffer for it?
The Eden Schoolhouse offers personalized education in a family classroom setting for just 12-15 children in each room, with an anchor teacher. For several years each child is with their anchor teacher and their class mates. Emphasis is given to STEM subjects, Bible, nature study, music, language, art and more! In the K-2 and 3-5 Rooms, in addition to learning their own lessons, they are exposed to what the slightly older children are learning. They get to review what the slightly younger children are learning. This is like sibling life in a family with brothers and sisters who mentor them, if older, and who look up to them, if younger.
Is it worth the investment? Eden Schoolhouse fees are based on paying fair wages for excellent teachers. These teachers study the skills and aptitudes of each student and adapt their teaching in order to give each student the best experience.
Scholars explain that what used to be taught in college is now appropriate on the middle school and high school level. This not only true of the STEM subjects they may study, but it is also true of the Bible and practical Christian life subjects they encounter. It is wonderful for a child to have an hour or two at church on Sunday mornings and perhaps another hour or two in the middle of the week. At the 2-room Eden Schoolhouse your child has many hours every day to learn of God and to grow in the love and knowledge that God showered on our first parents in Eden (see Genesis 2).
Go deeper? Eden Schoolhouse offers three Parent Workshops, A, B and C, during the school year. Our sponsoring organization, the Tru316 Foundation (Tru316.com), even offers an optional tuition reduction grant for participation in these Workshops.
Eden Schoolhouse education is a great place for your child to learn and grow in the atmosphere of the schoolhouse on the prairie of not so long ago. We invite you to start the conversation and the application process now. Simply email Info@EdenSchoolhouse.com. Then we will set a time to meet with you. We will also tell you of the next steps to take. And we will offer opportunity to meet with other families in our pioneering Christian experience!
Yours for Christ and your child,
Bruce and Joy
